That's what my son prayed last night as we sat down for dinner. It's official. We have applied for approval to adopt a specific child in Taiwan. This is something that we have been talking about and praying about for years. We discovered this little boy about 6 weeks ago and have been diligently working to get documents in order to send off and they were finally sent on Monday.
Confused? I understand.
"But - wait - haven't you been in this process for a long time?"
Heavens...yes.
"I didn't know you were adopting internationally."
Ha...neither did we. Remember that whole “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. (Isaiah 55)....it's pretty much been the theme of my life over the last 4-5 years and it just still continues to apply.
Right now - we wait. Waiting is not easy. Waiting is not fun. But I am weary of feeling weary about how the Lord will finally knit our family together. I wait with hope for what He is doing.
"but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."
-Isaiah 40:31
